First things first. Important events coming up.
- Annual meeting right after church this Sunday. It's important. Be there or be square.
- Feb 14. Valentine's Day Dance. Live music. Lot's o' fun. $25.00 per person and an item of non-perishable food. Proceeds go to sprucing up the courtyard once the weather turns.
The neighbors are also having a big event at Bethel. Here are excerpts for an email I got from Pastor Larry Bullock.
"Living Faith Church is hosting a Special Black History Month Musical Celebration Fundraiser with a very special tribute to President Barack Obama on Saturday, Feb 28 @7:30 pm. We're excited about the opportunity to showcase The Trinity Evangelical Gospel
Choir, Holy Vessel Church Choir and the several nationally renowned soloist and
performers. Admission is free but an Intermission offering will be
requested. Capacity is 300 and
limited to the first 300 confirmed."
To get advanced tickets, call Living Faith at 847-382-1830.
This sounds like a great musical event. Let's join in the fun.
And speaking of music, as a follow-up to Saturday's notes about the Inaugural Day music, I found this on Slate--the answer to the burning question, why do cellos sound lousy in cold weather. Just thought you'd want to know.
